The Environmental Studies minor is designed to introduce students to an
interdisciplinary approach to environmental issues, combining knowledge
of 1) the political, social, and psychological dimensions of
human-environmental interactions; 2) the science of ecological systems
and environmental change; and 3) the role of the environment in human
history, philosophy, religion, culture, and art.
Course Requirements
The Environmental Studies minor consists of one core course (either Envs
101 or Envs 301) and 15 hours of approved electives. The approved
electives must include a minimum of 3 hours of coursework in the social
sciences and a minimum of 3 hours of coursework in the natural sciences.
