B.A. in Environmental Studies
Description
The environmental studies major is designed to train students in an interdisciplinary approach to environmental issues, combining knowledge of 1) the political, social, and psychological dimensions of human-environmental interactions; 2) the science of ecological systems and environmental change; and 3) the role of the environment in human history, philosophy, religion, culture, and art.

Course Requirements
To complete a major in environmental studies, students must complete 38 credit hours, which include the following required courses: Envs 101, Anth 105, Envs 385, and a 1-hour capstone course. Students must select one lecture/lab combination from the following options:
- Bisc 111: The Environment: Integrated Exploration OR
- Bisc 104 & Bisc 105: Inquiry into Life: The Environment with lab OR
- Bisc 162 & Bisc 163: Biological Sciences II with lab
Students must take at least one course from each of the core categories:
