B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science (2+2)
Description
The B.S. in medical laboratory science degree (a 2+2 program with the University of Mississippi Medical Center) prepares an individual for technical and management positions in hospitals and laboratories, research in biomedical companies, forensic medicine, public health, sales and marketing, private consulting, health care administration, and education. The program prepares graduates for national credentialing examinations.

Course Requirements
The first phase of the B.S. in medical laboratory science consists of 60 semester hours in academic residence with a 2.5 minimum GPA. The second phase is in a professional program such as the Medical Laboratory Sciences program offered at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and includes lectures, laboratories, and clinical rotations in selected hospitals. Students must meet minimum criteria and apply by February 15 of the year they desire entry. Admission is competitive.
