Emphasis - Design and Theatre Production
Description
The emphasis in design/theatre production is a comprehensive design program that allows students to concentrate in stage management or costume, lighting, sound, or scenic design. In addition to rigorous classroom work--in their field of study as well as in theory, history, literature, directing, and business and employment practices--students have individualized instruction and multiple opportunities for realized design projects in main-stage and studio productions and are able to compile portfolios that will help them achieve professional employment or enter graduate school.
Students may opt to pursue the BFA in design/theatre production at any time. Portfolio reviews are held at the end of each semester to ensure that all design and theatre production students are progressing at a satisfactory rate. Success in this review is necessary for continued study in the BFA design and theatre production program.
