Description
The goal of the naval science minor is to educate any student about the history, missions, and capabilities of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. NROTC students minor in naval science while completing all of the academic and professional course work required by their scholarship contracts. Non-NROTC students may complete the minor as well but are not required to take leadership laboratories.
Course Requirements
A minor in naval science requires 18 hours of Nsc courses, including Nsc 111, 112; either 211 or 412; and one Nsc course at the 400 level. If the student selected Nsc 211, then either Nsc 412 or 413 fulfills this 400-level requirement. If the student selected Nsc 412, then Nsc 413 fulfills this 400- level requirement. To complete the 18 hours, students complete 6 credit hours of Nsc electives from the following list: Nsc 212, 310, 312, 313, 320, and 413.
