Overview
The School of Law offers a Juris Doctor (J.D.), a concurrent Juris Doctor/Master of Accountancy (J.D./M.Accy.), and a concurrent Juris Doctor/Master of Taxation (J.D./M.Tax.). The School of Law also offers a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in air and space law.
The J.D. curriculum of the School of Law consists of a 90-credit, full- time program. The vast majority of students complete the program in 36 months by attending primarily in the fall and spring semesters. A student may complete the program in 24 months by attending additional intersessions and summer semesters. A student may begin the first year of law school study either during the traditional fall semester or during the summer.
The LL.M. curriculum of the School of Law consists of a 26-credit program with full-time, part-time, and distance-learning options.
History/Mission/Purpose
The primary function of the school is to provide professional education required to prepare students for careers in the legal field. The law school, established in 1854, is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.
Accreditation
The School of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association, most recently in 2013. It has been continuously approved since 1930. The School of Law is also a member of the Association of American Law Schools.

Law Practice Before being admitted to the practice of law, graduates must take and pass a state bar examination.
