Coun 612: Foun. of Clin. Mental Health Counseling
LEADERSHIP & COUNSELOR EDUCATION
This course provides a broad overview of the professional roles, functions, and goals of counselors as well as issues particular to mental health counselors. Specific concepts to be reviewed include a history and overview of counseling as a profession, philosophical foundations, multicultural factors, services, credentialing, professional standards, and ethical and legal guidelines for practice.
