Course Requirements
A minor in linguistics requires 18 hours of linguistics courses. Students must complete Ling 313; one of the following courses in theoretical linguistics: 314, 315, 316; one of the following courses in functional linguistics: 335, 415, 430; and one of the following courses in sociolinguistics: 320, 435, 437, 438. A maximum of 9 credits for the minor may be taken through an approved study abroad program.
Other Academic Requirements
Grades lower than C in modern languages courses will not be counted toward the major or minor in modern languages.
