The Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy operate on both the Oxford and Jackson campuses. The Schools of Dentistry, Health Related Professionals and Medicine, and the Health Sciences Graduate School, are based in Jackson only. (Additional healthcare programs are available through the School of Applied Sciences on the Oxford campus.) Other than these exceptions, the schools above are on the Oxford campus.

BS in Radiologic Sciences (2+2)

Description

The B.S in Radiologic Sciences (a 2+2 program with the University of Mississippi Medical Center) prepares students for a dynamic profession that is ever changing in terms of technology and professional expertise. Radiologic science is a specialized field in which professional specialists perform medical imaging procedures for the purpose of diagnosing disease and injury. The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing a variety of challenging and interesting examinations on a diverse patient population. Those procedures include conventional radiography, fluoroscopy, and surgical studies.

Course Requirements

The curriculum for the B.S. in radiologic sciences is a two-phase program consisting of a two-year, 57-hour academic program in the College of Liberal Arts with a 2.5 GPA on the Oxford Campus. The second phase is a two-year program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center or other such institution. Courses to be completed at the Oxford campus, which are specific to the UMMC program only, are as follows:
