Thea 423: Arts Leadership in the Community
THEATRE ARTS
This course introduces students to the skills, strategies, and creative vision necessary to lead nonprofit performing arts organizations. Students will gain an overview of the careers available in arts management, the types of work necessary to succeed in those careers, and the avenues by which they might pursue those careers in today’s environment. In addition to a practical focus on organizational administration, there will also be a significant focus on the habits of artistic leadership: crafting and communicating a strong vision, creating or selecting artistic work, and assembling a creative team.
