Overview
Overview: The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers the Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.E.) degree with emphases in special education, elementary education (special education endorsement option ), and in secondary education (English, mathematics, science, and social studies).
At the graduate level, the department offers the Master of Education (M.Ed.) in curriculum and instruction in elementary, education, literacy education, secondary education and in special education. The department offers the Master of Arts (M.A.) in curriculum and instruction (Teacher Corps option and MACI option), the Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in curriculum and instruction, the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) with an emphasis in elementary education, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) with an emphasis in secondary education.
Other Information
All professional education courses (with the exception of Edrd 355, Edci 351, and Edci 352) require admission to Phase II.
Students registered in schools of the university other than the School of Education should take particular care to inquire about certification requirements.
Candidates who are conditionally admitted or who elect to enroll as nondegree-seeking students may take only 9 hours and are NOT eligible for financial aid.
