B.A. in Biochemistry
Description
The B.A. in biochemistry is designed for students who intend to pursue a career in medicine, dentistry, or other health-related fields. The curriculum associated with this degree program prepares students to take the MCAT and DAT.

Course Requirements
A major in biochemistry for the B.A. degree consists of the following 30 hours of courses: Chem 105, 106, 115, 116; 221, 222, 225, 226; 331 or 334; 471, 472 or 463 (2 hours),* 473, and 580. Math 261, 262 and Phys 211, 212, 221, 222 or Phys 213, 214, 223, 224 are also required.
*With prior departmental approval, 2 hours of Chem 463 may substitute for Chem 472.
The following courses may not be used for major credit: Chem 101, 103, 104, 113, 114, 121, 201, 202, 271, 381, 382, or 383.
