B.S. in Dental Hygiene (2 +2)
Description
The B.S. in dental hygiene (a 2+2 program with the University of Mississippi Medical Center) prepares an individual for employment as a clinical practitioner, educator, researcher, administrator, or consultant in dental hygiene. The program prepares graduates to seek licensure as a registered dental hygienist.

Course Requirements
The B.S. in dental hygiene is a two-phase program, which prepares graduates for a professional credentialing examination. The first phase consists of 57-semester-hour academic residence in the College of Liberal Arts with a 2.0 minimum GPA. The second phase is in a professional program such as the dental hygiene program offered at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. At least 16 hours of science pre-requisites and 8 hours of observation of a licensed or registered dental hygienist must be completed by the application deadline of January 15.
