Students will research a community challenge they hope to address, assess methods for addressing this challenge within a specific local context, and undergo personal reflection in preparation for intentionally leading a project designed to address a community challenge. Students will review literature on community engagement, develop a partnership with a community-based organization, and create a capstone project plan that will be carried out in CEL 310, a 3-hour internship class open to all students that complete CEL 210.
