SW 220: Foundations in Maternal and Child Health
Social Work
This course introduces the interdisciplinary field of maternal and child health using the Life Course Model and includes history of key MCH legislation, policies, and programs, as well as discussion and analysis of current issues in the health of mothers, children, and their families from preconception through adolescence. Special attention is given to life course theory, health disparities and cultural competency, and MCH policies, programs, and practice in resource-poor environments domestically and internationally.
