Coun 613: Diagnostic Systems in Counseling

This course covers criteria, content, and organizational structure of mental disorders across the life span, as described in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Completion of course objectives is intended to increase knowledge and application of biopsychosociocultural conceptualizations of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, assessment tools, diagnostic practices, and evidence-supported treatment strategies for working with clients across settings.
